In line with our mandate, we have constantly optimized our efforts of making fish accessible and affordable throughout the country by setting up fish shops and conducting monthly regional fish promotions to ensure our footprints and activities representation in all parts of the country.

Currently, NFCPT owns and operates 17 fish shops in 13 of Namibia's 14 Regions (namely Erongo, Khomas, //Karas, Hardarp, Omaheke, Kunene, Oshikoto, Oshana, Omusati, Ohangwena, Kavango West, Kavango East, and Zambezi) and employs about 149 employees to deliver on its mandate. Adding to Fish Shops, the Trust also operates a take-away in Swakopmmund and a restaurant in Ongwediva where we prepare and sell cooked different fish cuisines.

Over the years, we have witnessed a significant improvement of fish consumption among Namibians from roughly 4kg per capita at independence to 11.5 per capita fish consumption in 2018.  In 2001 NFCPT distributed a mere 500MT, this amount has since increased to 7117 in 2018. These achievements have been complemented with the Trust's commitment to ensuring investment in infrastructure development such as setting up fish distribution shops in the regions.

Our main fish products are Horse Mackerel and Hake. Each year, the Government allocates a Horse Mackerel (averaging 15,000MT) and Hake (averaging 3000MT) quota to the Trust through the National Fishing Cooperation of Namibia (FISHCOR). This quota is caught in Namibian waters annually - enabling the Trust to sell the fish to the public at an affordable price to ensure accessibility.

Through established smart partnerships with industry partners in the fisheries sector, the Trust has been able to provide other fish and fish products such as Angel Fish, Reds Dentex, Jacopever, John Dory, Snoek and canned pilchards. To-date, these partnerships have played a significant role in realising our mission as a Trust.

Our fish shops are in Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Windhoek [Wanaheda and Ombili], Mariental, Keetmanshoop, Lüderitz, Gobabis, Opuwo, Omuthiya, Ondangwa, Ongwediva, Outapi, Eenhana, Nkurenkuru, Rundu and Katima Mulilo.
