About NFCD

In 2012 NFCPT initiated the establishment of the National Fish Consumption Day (NFCD). NFCD is an annually event hosted at the regional level to create awareness about fish consumption and celebrate Namibian fisheries and the fishing industry. During this day, the Trust, in collaboration with MFMR as well as the Fishing Industry and other industry players employs various means and medium to disseminate information on the health benefits of consuming fish through plays, football, music, live demonstrations and print information dissemination, just to mention a few.

NFCD was launched in Swakopmund, Erongo region, and has since been rolled among eight (8) host regions, namely: Erongo, Omaheke, Otjozondjupa, Omusati, Oshana, Kavango West, Kunene and Oshikoto region.
